Orlando Vallejo

Born on November 20, 1955 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but since 1960 resides in the city of Caguas, being declared adopted son of the city through a proclamation signed by Mayor Hon. William Miranda Marin in the year 2007. His training It includes art studies at the School of Plastic Arts of Puerto Rico, University of Turabo, University of Puerto Rico, Bayamon campuses and Rio Piedras.

He has participated in the Biennial of Santo Domingo, RD (1996) and the Biennale in Florence, Italy (2005). He participated as an artist in residence at the Foundation Altos de Chavon in La Romana, RD (1997). He was invited to give a lecture illustrated his work at the College Autonoma de Diego Quispe Tito Fine Arts in Cusco, Peru (2002). In 2009 he commissioned a portrait of Don Eugenio Maria de Hostos for collection Hall Libertadores and Social Heroes Latin America and Caribbean at Casa Antonio Jose de Sucre in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. During the years 2013 to 2015 he served as Artist in Residence at the University of Turabo. His work is in major public and private collections in and outside Puerto Rico.
